University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point
Carlsten Art GalleryThis gallery consisted of both student artists, alumni and attending, as well as other artists. There were a few pieces that had caught my eye such as Koran McKensey’s ‘Ponderance of Flesh’ which was an acrylic on canvas painting. I believe this was a students work. I loved her use of color and shading in order to capture the intricacies of the human skeletal form. The gallery also consisted of a concrete sculptural installation and various sculptures and mixed media works. Having the opportunity to see these different artworks has been a privilege.

Workshop
We had done a workshop for UW-Stevens Point creating letters of the alphabet out of different objects and materials. This allowed me to utilize my thinking skills as an IB learner and create a relatively ordinary concept through unique and varying objects, materials and resources. This helped me with my digital concepts as an artist because it encouraged me to use different photographs and textures to create new images and works of art that were unique and interesting. I am thankful for the experience of working with professors of the art department at Stevens Point in order to gain more knowledge about my artistic creativity and better my concepts when applying the attributes I learned in the workshop to my works of art.
